Space Game

I'll be a little late for class today. You have 2 tasks to address while I'm not there; do them in order:
  1. Make the laser kill the enemy.
  2. Store the number of kills in a variable.
  3. Read This Tutorial
  4. Use your new-found knowledge to display the number of kills (aka your score) in the bottom-center of your game screen.
I'll be grading your progress immediately upon returning. Please don't make me rage when I get back.

Quarta-feira = Wednesday in Portuuguese

XNA should be in full swing atm.

Today, you should all focus on making as many tweaks to the game-play as possible. Maybe in you're score gets to 10, the ships speed up, or try to make the ships fire back at you. Use Google to figure out to make a time in C#, then race to 20 ships or something.

I'm offering a whopping $3 for the best game when I get back.

Don't be afraid to try. Use the internet resources and use each other, DON'T JUST SIT THERE, DO SOMETHING.

Tuesday - Still no Howard

Today, you guys can have some fun...

For the 2D XNA tutorial that you've been working on, I want you all to recreate/ acquire new graphic assets for the 2D game which you coded.

If you're behind in the videos, WATCH THE VIDEOS and code along!

  • Again, there are several graphic pieces in .tga format which I want you to replace with your own.
  • Make sure that the new graphic pieces fit into the game and preserve transparency. I'm not sure if the graphics need to be .tga files, but if .bmp, .jpg, .gif, etc. don't work, then use Photoshop to save the graphics in the .tga format.
  • The NEW graphics should be correctly sized and be appropriate for the gameplay (cannonballs shouldn't be hamburgers, etc.)
  • When you're finished making the NEW GRAPHICS, zip them up and upload to SWAIN.
  • Due today.
  • If you finish, then make sure that your game works, study the code, and add functionality.
  • This is why you took the class!!!!!!!!
